March 2018 to Present
As Data Analyst, Krista inspected data from various sources, pulling together key elements and information useful for research and policy analysis, identifying data quality issues, and designing data visualisations.
As a full stack web developer, Krista created web applications for the presentation of data and data visualisations.
Krista's work for Dynamic Solutions Inc. (DSI) included a range of clients in the public and private sector. The majority her time was spent as a data analyst and web application developer for a British Columbia Provincial Government Ministry, developing web applications used to present data visualisations for use by policy analysts in the review of and planning for social programs for the Province.
Applications provided by DSI are built upon DSI's own, open-source, dynamic Python web framework - ZoomFoundry - using MySQL, MariaDB, and Oracle database engines. DSI solutions are built using Zoom and carefully integrate client requirements and restrictions to build robust, complex web sites for use by thousands of users.
Krista decided to partner with DSI in order to return to her roots as a software developer, deepen her technical knowledge of the modern web application stack, and learn more about the field of data science. Over the past two years, she has acquired full-stack Python web development skills, experience designing and managing DevOps with both GitLab and BitBucket/Bamboo toolsets, and deepened her SQL knowledge. All of which strengthens her abilities as a team leader and project manager.
At the same time, projects with DSI have required Krista to employ her task organisation, work prioritisation, client management and business development skills, along with being a natural leader for the younger members of the DSI team.
